This was one busy week with this baby, great company and little sleep!
So these pictures pick up where we left off with the last post. Here she is eight days old.
Her eyes are a very dark blue. At times very very dark.
... and she likes to wiggle and quite strong for someone so young and so little -- even the nurses said so ;)
The next day Juniper got to meet her Grandma Phillips . . .
. . . and her Aunt Heather. Yay!
What a fun morning! Here are a few more pictures from that day.
I keep thinking about how lucky I am that with all the babies born every day I got her!

Ten days old. The 19th of June.
Juniper likes to snuggle on the ubersoft blankie from Aunt Heather.
And her beautiful blanket knitted by her Grandma Lois. She has been the recipient of many many beautiful blankets... those pictures are soon to come.
Getting to hold my little daughter was the best part of my 31st birthday.

On the 20th Grandma Lois arrived-- yippee!!
I love this nose!
Juniper always bends her toes back like this.
That night she went to a restaurant for the first time; Pizzeria Uno's in celebration of my birthday. She was very well behaved and the food was tasty.
_____________________________________________Not a lot of pictures were taken on the 21st but here is our 12 day old girl.

Here is her monkey face on day 13
Do you know the 5 'S's?
Also that day she lost her umbilical cord stump so this is her brand new big girl belly button.

The 23rd was the last day Mom and Heather were in town so we took a trip to Dow Gardens in Midland. Dennis and I got annual passes so we will be back. It was a great way to end their trip.

I am so happy these ladies came all the way out to Michigan. I miss them so much! They taught me to be a better mom in the brief time they were here. It was hard to get Juniper to burp which lead to gas pains and a tiny baby crying as hard as she possibly could which in turn made me cry. Mom and Heather helped me through that-- Thank You!
I cannot count the number of times during this trip we would pause and say "Jayna should be here!" So this is what it would have looked like to have all the sisters together-- umm sorta.
On the way home we stopped by JoAnn's

Hi Kristen,
First of all, congratulations on your beautiful child. As a mother of two daughters, I understand what a joy little girls are (most of the time)! The name you've chosen is lovely. My second daughter, Kaia, shares Juniper's middle name.
Even though your profile indicates your husband would prefer you don't talk about him on the blog, I am going to bring him into the spotlight for a moment. A friend of mine stumbled across your blog and then called me to say, "I think we know the dad in this blog from Connecticut. Can you identify him?"
Well, I realized that we DO know him from the University of Connecticut Dept. of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. (At least, I'm nearly certain he is the same person I know.) If this is an accurate connection, please tell him hello from Em and Kathryn. Every time I spoke with him, I found him to be a kind and gentle soul, and a very sweet man. I am happy to see that he is doing well. I hope you both enjoy the baby moon.
Sincerely,
Em Komiskey
